Kamer Negen / K9 presents a dual exhibition featuring two Belgian artists with unique trajectories. Vincent Strebelle, a sculptor and painter, has spent over five decades exploring materials and forms, transforming everyday objects and diverse materials into poetic and monumental works. And Alain Wergifosse, a pioneering sound art/multimedia Belgian – associate artist/resident at Transcultures in 2024. His multifaceted work questions perception, feedback and matter (through installations, photographs that they call “visual paintings”, videos, performances…) has been presented many times in international festivals over the last 30 years. At Kamer negen, he presents, among others, still images from the series “Spectres & Neons” and “Morphèmes”, the videos “Erosions” and will give a sound performance at the end of the exhibition.
Each guest artist has in this double exhibition his space to show his universe and his particular forms.

Vincent Strebelle (Be)
Son of architect Claude Strebelle and nephew of sculptor Olivier Strebelle, Vincent Strebelle trained in sculpture and painting at the Fine Arts Academies of Liège and Brussels between 1964 and 1968. Winner of the Prix de la Maîtrise, the Government Medal, and the City of Brussels Award in 1968, he was also recognized at the Belgian Young Painters Prize in 1985. From 1972, he began exhibiting regularly, both in Belgium and abroad.
A prolific and experimental artist, Vincent boldly explores materials and scales, transforming everyday objects into unique works. From recycled tin cans turned into paintings to monumental sculptures, his work combines humor, poetry, and reflection. Shaped by his childhood in Africa and an insatiable curiosity, he addresses profound subjects with lightness, questioning our relationship with objects and human values.
With over 50 years of creation, Vincent Strebelle stands out as a singular figure in Belgian art, blending family heritage with personal inventiveness, enriching the artistic landscape with his unique and generous vision.
