On 24 and 25 April 2026, City Sonic lands in Seoul for the first time, taking over the Windmill for two evenings devoted to the intersections of sound art, performance, exhibition, deep listening, film screening and live music. Conceived as an international platform for encounter and experimentation, this Korean chapter brings together, on Friday 24 April, City Sonic x Planned Accidents, and on Saturday 25 April, City Sonic, in a dialogue between Korean and international artists drawn from a wide range of aesthetic practices.

Produced by Transcultures, and building on the events of 2023 and 2024 initiated by Philippe Franck and Rafael Sanchez, the programme also forms part of the official celebrations marking 140 years of diplomatic relations between France and Korea, and 125 years of diplomatic relations between Belgium and Korea. This Seoul edition affirms the transnational scope of City Sonic — a festival with a longstanding commitment to hybrid forms, contemporary sound practices and artistic approaches that straddle multiple disciplines.

Across both days, audiences are invited to explore a rich programme of interventions combining installations, performances, listening sessions, talks, screenings and concerts, featuring European artists such as Christophe Bailleau, Carole Brandon, Jean-Paul Dessy, Jordan Fraser Emery, Stéphane Kozik, Natalia de Melo, Paradise Now, Rudy Rigoudy… alongside a number of Korean and international guests.

Housed at the Windmill, City Sonic Seoul offers an immersive encounter with artistic practices in which sound becomes at once raw material, listening space, critical tool and ground for intercultural exchange.
