Transcultures is joining forces with the Belgian Federation for Electroacoustic Music for the new edition of Reflets sonores, a festival dedicated to contemporary forms of sound creation, hosted at La Chapelle de Verre in Fauquez.
Since 2019, FeBeME has been developing a regular programme of electroacoustic concerts in this heritage venue. This ongoing presence gave rise to a festival, which has been known as Reflets sonores for the past four years, and returns this year with three evenings devoted to listening, experimentation and encounters between artists, composers, performers and audiences.
Entirely decorated with marbrite, La Chapelle de Verre offers a singular environment, at once architectural, acoustic and sensory. Its distinctive atmosphere makes it an ideal setting for immersive sound experiences, where the works resonate with the space itself.
For this edition, a large orchestra of loudspeakers — the acousmonium — will be installed in the chapel. It will allow electroacoustic and acousmatic creations to enter into dialogue with the acoustics of the venue, through a programme open to a range of approaches: fixed-media music, modular synthesis, live electronics and performances conceived specifically for the space.
Among the invited projects, audiences will notably be able to discover Sfeer, a duo from Roubaix whose practice consists in performing live compositions created specifically for the spaces in which they take shape.
Alongside the concerts, Reflets sonores will also offer a free-access trail of sound installations. One of them will be presented, for the first time, in the garden of La Chapelle de Verre, in dialogue with a piece of goldsmithing displayed in the venue’s showcases.
Transcultures will also present a video selection of the best performances from City Sonic 2026 Seoul, extending the connections between sound creation, digital arts, performance and the international circulation of works.
Through this collaboration with FeBeME, Transcultures continues its commitment to sound arts, electroacoustic experimentation and encounters between heritage, technologies and contemporary artistic practices.
