Guest artist Delphine Vanseveren offers a sensitive exploration of a concept whose definitions seem inexhaustible. Physical time, lived time, the time of memory, waiting, transformation or perception: realities that overlap, sometimes contradict one another, and shape the way we inhabit the world.
For this exhibition, the artist has invited eight artists whose practices resonate with her own research. Each presents two works that extend, shift or question this shared reflection, without seeking to illustrate it. Drawings, photographs, paintings, videos and installations come together to form a journey in which different approaches enter into dialogue, revealing the richness of possible interpretations of a single notion.

The exhibition does not seek to provide a definition of “time”, but rather invites visitors to experience it through works that slow down the gaze, shift our points of reference or make usually invisible phenomena perceptible.
By entrusting this third anniversary exhibition to Delphine Vanseveren, EXIT11 reaffirms its commitment to projects centred on research, dialogue and connections between artistic practices. More than a retrospective celebration, this exhibition approaches time as a living material, a space of encounter between the works, the artists and the visitors.
While twenty years constitute a measurable span of time, they only truly acquire meaning through the experiences, exchanges and creations that unfold within them. XX variable(s) thus reminds us that time is never a single given: it exists in multiple forms, changes according to our perspectives, and remains one of the most fertile materials of contemporary creation.
The opening will take place on Sunday, September 6 at 3:00 pm, followed at 6:00 pm by a performance by artivist Katia Vonna Beltran.
Delphine Vanseveren (Be)
Belgian visual artist and graphic designer Delphine Vanseveren develops a practice at the intersection of artistic research, image-making, graphic design and collaborative projects. Her work explores, among other things, mechanisms of perception and the ways in which familiar notions can be shifted, questioned or made tangible through artistic experience.
Alongside her own artistic practice, she also works in publishing and graphic design, particularly on photography-related projects.
Centre d'art contemporain Exit11
Founded in 2006 and officially recognised as a Contemporary Art Centre by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles since 2020.
Located in Gembloux, just off the E411 motorway (exit 11), the Centre occupies a 17th-century château-farm set in the countryside. This distinctive setting, combining heritage architecture with a close connection to nature, provides an environment conducive to discovery, reflection and encounters between artists and audiences.
Through five exhibitions each year, multidisciplinary events and workshops open to all, the Centre aims to make contemporary art accessible to a broad audience. By supporting visual artists from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and fostering exchanges with the Belgian and international art scenes, EXIT11 offers a space for discovery, encounter and dialogue between contemporary creation, heritage and nature.
Opening Performance - Katia Vonna Beltran (En)
Katia Vonna Beltran is a nomadic multidisciplinary artist working across photography, video and performance, with a particular interest in live audiovisual practices. Her work combines low-tech processes and digital tools to create theatrical miniature worlds. These environments unfold through real-time image capture and projection, using found and repurposed objects, recycled materials and archival sources to develop narratives around political and ecological concerns.
Her practice is firmly rooted in a DIY approach, foregrounding the immediacy and poetic potential of handmade processes. Rather than relying on sophisticated technologies, she works with accessible, improvised tools and materials, creating performances that encourage participation and shared experience. Moving across conventional disciplinary boundaries, her work opens up spaces for social reflection and collective imagination. It explores forms of action and resistance while engaging audiences emotionally with contemporary social and environmental issues.
With more than twenty years of international experience, Katia Vonna Beltran has presented her work in numerous countries, including France, Germany, Finland, Morocco, Turkey and South Korea. Her sustained exploration of the intersections between art, technology and social issues places her within a broader field of socially and politically engaged contemporary practice.
