Two intense evenings celebrated the 20th birthday of Productions Rhizome in Quebec City and Montreal, which were a new phase in the hybrid E-critures project initiated by Rhizome and Transcultures and organized annually alternately in Quebec and in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation since 2016. After a beautiful and long evening on March 12 at Center Horizon in Quebec City as part of Poetry Month with the participation of many Quebec and Belgian poet-authors and audio artists (Maja Jantar, Bertrand Pérignon, Pascal Leclercq, Paradise Now), the restrictions due to Covid 19 have not not allowed to organize on March 17 in the place initially planned a poetic audio event Rhizome / Transcultures (in partnership with La poésie everywhere) in Montreal. It finally took place in live streaming mode in a Montreal apartment under the title “Sound poetry and craft publications Live Remix ”.
The authors Pascal Leclercq (Liège) and Bertrand Pérignon (Brussels) read extracts from Standon and Solyvène Targamé (two new books released by Rhizome editions on the occasion of its twentieth anniversary and whose main texts were originally written for the show Atoms presented in 2008 by Transcultures in its Transnumeriques festival) on soundscapes improvised by Belgian sound artist Paradise Now which also accompanied the reading (entitled L’Éblouissement) of the Montreal poet Catrine Godin with whom he had been in residence for these special events . This streamed evening ended with a mix of sound poetry (from William Burroughs to Charles Pennequin) by Paradise Now.
