The event will take place in the enchanting and unique space of The Rabbit Hole at KOTE, an ideal setting for this intimate experience.

Sin Cha Hong (

After completing her education in Korea, she moved to New York City in the late 1960s to study dance during a time of experimentation in postmodern dance. In 1981, she founded the Laughing Stone Dance Company in New York. Her productions, combining the minimalism of Western avant-garde modern dance with the dramatic intensity of Eastern spiritual traditions, received critical and popular acclaim.

In 1990, Sin Cha Hong returned to South Korea, where she continued to perform both solo and with her company. She also spent time in India, an experience that influenced her dance practice. Collaborating with artists like gayageum player Hwang Byung-ki, she studied meditation for 30 years, becoming a meditation master.

Sin Cha Hong also taught at the Beijing Dance Academy as a guest professor and at various universities in Korea as a Fulbright scholar. In 1994, she organized the Juksan International Arts Festival, recognized as an international festival for avant-garde art. Her autobiography, “Excuse for Freedom,” became a bestseller and has been translated into Japanese and Chinese.

/// PLANNED ACCIDENTS is like a Korean Garden. Each one has its own aesthetic specificity and brings together, in the same space, different structures, which may initially seem to be a surprisingly organized chaos.

/// PLANNED ACCIDENTS is a site specific and itinerant event mixing talks, performances/concerts, screenings, installations, and other hybrid forms.
