In February, Transcultures will organise several Sonic Kids workshops and lectures on various new hybrid artistic approaches for the students. The result of the first M4m (M for mobility) artist residency (Mauro Vitturini) will be presented to the public in Mons while a second M4m call for proposal has been launched.

In the framework of the European project M4m (M for mobility) which aims to facilitate creative exchanges between young professionals of culture, the Italian composer and multimedia artist Mauro Vitturini will premiere an installation which presents a study on Mons through the means of sound and on sound itself. Some recordings taken in Mons during this residency period will be processed and played by different devices in different ways. Opening on February 5 – 6.30 pm + performance by young multimedia/sound artist Arnaud Eeckhout using the installation devices.

Open till February 6th (2>6pm).

Call for proposal for culture professionals residency M4m in Mons (March 2013)

In the framework of the European project M4m (M for mobility), Transcultures had launched a call for proposal for an European artist (all European countries accepted except from Belgium) or a cultural professionnal residency in the field of digital arts or sound art. This residency will take place at Transcultures in Mons (Belgium) the 1st two weeks of March 013 and will be present to the public at the end. Applications are to be sent by February 11th to the emobility site and alors to Transculture’s direct contact: lucie.transcultures@gmail.com

Benjamin Dupé is alone on stage as both guitar player and electro-accoustic music composer. He plays his strange music and shows us the bizarre life that goes wih it. With some funny and subtle sense of self-mockery, he creates a dialogue with the “uninitiated” audience’s recorded lyrics. A way to hear the world much more crazier than “contemporary music” would seem to mean.
