 In May, many artists and projects associated to Transcultures will be show in the Federation Wallonia-Brussels and also in France (in Nice at Villa Arson, in Lyon with Les Nuits Sonores and in Malves / Carcassone with the festival Nightshot), a good example of the diversity and vitality of the interdisciplinarities we defend with passion.

In the framework of the exhibition “Public faces in Private places” of Gerard Malanga organized by Sandrine Mons at Loft in Cannes (great shots of the Velvet Underground, Andt Warhol, Patti Smith, William Burroughs, … to be seen at 3, rue du Canada, till the 14th of September + dj set Arnaud maguet at Hotel 3.14, 5 rue Einesy, after the opening of May 4th), Philippe Franck is invited at the Art School of Nice, Villa Arson to dialogue with in this American photographer, pop poet, experimental filmmaker and main assistant of Andy Warhol during the 60s at the Factory + Experimental films (Andy Warhol : Portraits of the artist as a young man, in search of the miraculous Film notebooks) directed by Gerard Malanga and poetic musical tracks

In this workshop, you will discover the benefits and physical properties of sound and the use of “singing bowls” (ancestral Tibetan bowls et crystal bowls) and essential oils…a sacred moment!

Transcultures, regular partner of the festival Nightshot (artistic director : Philippe Baudelot) initiated by the Graph, presents, in the framework of the event Mai Numérique, two young interdisciplinary artists from Mons Arnaud Eeckhout and Vivian Barigand with their recent project Twist, which is an entirely acoustic installation with metal and organic tone. This immersive work, created at the Festival of Sound Art City Sonic in September 2012 in Mons, creates a moving audio visual world, reflecting the exhibition space, a ballet of shadows, lights and abstract patterns.

This second edition of Sound up initated by Art Zoyd in the framework of the European transborder project Espace(s) Son(s) Hainaut(s), which has been prepared during the year involving young artists from North of France and Wallonia, explores the man-machine relation with a specific dramaturgy for each art piece and a itinerary between innovative music, scenary, writing, video and performance.

Call for proposal Park in progress @ Mons-Belgium 2013 within the international festival of sound art City Sonic

Park in progress is a nomadic mobility program supported by the European Commission (EAC- Culture Programme 2007-2013). Transcultures is a sound art and digital arts center located in Mons. The projects we’re looking for must be in link with sound (in any contemporary dimension). The Park in Progress presentation will take place at the international sound art Festival City Sonic, the sound art festival organized by Transcultures since 2003 in the center of the city of Mons.
