Transcultures invites the Substra young artists collective for a creative residency in its new Transonic Lab located in the former Couvent d’Hautrage (Saint-Ghislain – Belgium).
In the framework of this residency, the collective intends to develop their project “In phase Out of phase”, initially a performance on the theme of multimedia feedback, during which the members attempted to communicate and interact “plastically” with each other, through mediums such as light, video, sound… The goal was to bring these different physical materials into dialogue through performative acts by stimulating perception and disrupting notions of space and temporality.
“We offer a series of disturbances of sensations: sound and spatial. We stimulate our relationship with the visible in multiple ways. We undertake all this with the aim of leaving a here and now conditioned to the limits of reality, to move towards a possible elsewhere by letting ourselves be lulled by our perceptions.” Substra
This residency supervised by the Transcultures team and the sound and visual artist Alain Wergifosse, will be an opportunity for the collective to deepen their research and conceptualize an installation version of their project.

Substra (Be) is a collective made up of Théo Carlino studying IDM and acousmatics, Margaux Joris and Tommy Moucheron, all three students at Mons Visual Arts School ARTS²
